"Because They Hate" by Brigitte Gabriel.

From Publishers Weekly With strident confidence, American Congress for Truth founder Gabriel rebukes the American public for being "weak, asleep or careless" in the face of Muslim terrorism. A Christian survivor of the vicious civil war between Lebanese Christians and Muslims in the 1970s.

She witnessed firsthand the murder, rape, hatred and genocide of a once-great land. She experienced the terror, ethnic cleansing, and dictatorship of Muslim radicals. And she also saw how these Islamists masterfully controlled and manipulated the media, to make it look like they were the good guys, and the Christians and Jews were the source of evil in the region.

This book tells her story in chilling and moving detail. But the book is much more than a personal story. It is also a warning. It is a warning to America and the West that the very thing that happened to Lebanon is now happening to all Western democracies. Radical Muslims have declared a holy war against the West, and made clear their intention of destroying it.

Radical Muslims made their intentions known about Lebanon, and they did what they said they would do. They are now telling us their intentions about the West. And they are working to carry out those intentions. Gabriel asks, will we learn from the experience in Lebanon? Or will the West close its eyes and pretend the threat of radical Islam does not exist?

Bar-Kokhba: The rediscovery of the legendary hero of the second Jewish Revolt against Rome by Yigael Yadin.

"Bar-Kokhba: The rediscovery of the legendary hero of the second Jewish Revolt against Rome" by Yigael Yadin.

Sometimes the most important discoveries are made accidentally, in which case the finds themselves are the only things that matter. But sometimes an archaeologist embarks on a special expedition with a specific object in mind, and when this is attained, the 'why' and 'how' are nearly as important, and certanly as exciting, as discovery itself. Such was the case of the Bar-Kohba expedition -- the subject of this book.

"They Must Be Stopped" by Brigitte Gabriel

They Must Be Stopped is New York Times bestselling author Brigitte Gabriel’s warning to the world: We can no longer ignore the growth of radical Islam--we must act soon, and powerfully.

In this eye-opening book, Gabriel fearlessly challenges our western and politically correct notions about Islam. She demonstrates why today's jihad is so deadly and how we can halt its progress. She also addresses in riveting fashion the historical and religious basis of the global Islamic jihad movement, details its frightening encroachment into societies around the world, and lays bare its abuses of democracy in the name of religion.

Gabriel explains that the issue of Islamic attacks on innocent civilians, and radical Islamic encroachment into Western societies, is not an issue that belongs solely to the Right or the Left. It is an issue of the defense of Western civilization, and a problem affecting the entire world. That's why They Must Be Stopped is so important: it illuminates a problem that continues to be obscured by political correctness, and provides solid steps for how the jihadists, as formidable as they are today, can be definitively beaten.

"Now They Call Me Infidel: Why I Renounced Jihad for America, Israel, and the War on Terror" by Nonie Darwish

Nonie Darwish spent her first 30 years living in Egypt and Gaza. Her father, Mustafa Hafez, was hand-picked by Egypt’s President Nasser in 1955 to launch the Palestinian freedom movement from Gaza. He put together, and operated, a small army of terrorists whose task was to cause as much death and destruction inside Israel as possible. He was ultimately killed by an Israeli explosive delivered to his office, and he is still a hero to Palestinians who have named a street and a school after him. Nonie Darwish was a young girl when her father died but she has vivid memories of those days and of the doubts she already had about the failure of Arab culture to do much more than blame its own shortcomings on everyone but themselves.

In her book, Darwish speaks out against the dark side of her native culture – women abused by Islamic traditions; the poor and uneducated mistreated by the elites; bribery and corruption as a way of life. She rejects a culture of bigotry and argues that the only hope for the future is for America to continue waging the War on Terror, seeding the Middle East with the values of democracy, respect for women, and tolerance for all religions.

It’s easy to discount this kind of warning when it comes from the mouth of a conservative American politician or writer.
However, when someone like Egyptian Nonie Darwish in her book Now They Call Me Infidel exposes this well-funded plot to Islamize America, alarm bells should go off everywhere.

"Tower of Babbel: How the United Nations Has Fueled Global Chaos" by Dore Gold

From Publishers Weekly

Far from fulfilling its founding mandate to stop aggression and protect human rights, the U.N. "makes matters worse," argues Gold, Israel’s U.N. ambassador from 1997 to 1999. In this vigorous if one-sided polemic, Gold contends that the U.N. has proved unable to forestall or resolve international conflicts: its peacekeeping forces allowed genocide to proceed in Rwanda and Bosnia; it has failed to curb terrorism and nuclear proliferation; and it has allowed the General Assembly to become a forum for the anti-Western demagoguery of authoritarian regimes.
The U.N.’s rigid stance of "impartiality" leads it to accord "moral equivalence" to every party, no matter how stark the contrast between aggressors and victims—a lack of "moral clarity" that Gold finds particularly galling when the U.N. has criticized or obstructed Israel or the U.S. Gold covers many of the salient international crises, from the U.N.’s founding to the current war in Iraq, paying special attention to the Arab-Israeli conflict. His indictment is sometimes telling and sometimes tendentious. His criticism of the U.N. inspection programs and sanctions against Iraq, for example, obscures the fact that they succeeded in disarming Saddam. And his assumption that moral clarity alone should be sufficient to unite the world’s democracies behind American leadership will strike some as willfully naïve.

“Dore Gold’s excellent book Tower of Babble documents the UN’s shortcomings.”
New York Sun

Using internal UN documents and classified cables, Gold presents stark evidence of how the UN ignores mass murder, emboldens terrorists, props up dictators, and otherwise betrays its mission to protect the world’s security. Tower of Babble reveals:

• Why America can—and indeed must—go outside the UN to address the most serious threats to national security

• How the UN jeopardizes the success of the war on terror—and how terrorist groups have actually penetrated UN organizations

• How, in the space of a year, the UN turned a blind eye to two horrifying episodes of mass murder—and why the slaughters could have been prevented

• How the oil-for-food scandal only hints at the UN’s repeated failures to deal with Saddam Hussein’s Iraq

• How the UN’s new international criminal court threatens America’s sovereignty

• How the UN’s startling record of failure has led Presidents Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Clinton, and George W. Bush to bypass the UN Security Council

As this hard-hitting book reveals, it is, quite simply, a myth that the United Nations is a positive force for world order or the “sole source of international legitimacy.” And unless the United States and its allies recognize this now, they will continue to put themselves at risk.

"For anyone wondering what's wrong with the United Nations, this is the book to read. Providing both a concise history and an urgent warning for our own time, Dore Gold in clear and lively detail explains how and why the UN too often promotes not peace, but problems--and what we can do about it."--Claudia Rosett, columnist, the Wall Street Journal's Opinionjournal.com

Exodus by Leon Uris

Exodus by American novelist Leon Uris is about the founding of the State of Israel. Published in 1958, it is based on the name of the 1947 immigration ship Exodus.
In 1956, Uris covered the Arab-Israeli fighting as a war correspondent. Two years later, Exodus was published by Doubleday. Exodus became an international publishing phenomenon, the biggest bestseller in the United States since Gone with the Wind. Uris had sold the film rights in advance.
The story unfolds with the protagonist, Ari Ben Canaan, hatching a plot to transport Jewish refugees from a British detention camp in Cyprus to Palestine. The operation is carried out under the auspices of the Mossad Le'aliyah Bet. The book then goes on to trace the histories of the various main characters and the ties of their personal lives to the birth of the new Jewish state.
